Team Cookie Monsters

The final of Robot Wars reboot has occured, the arena dust has settled and we're already missing it. It has been such an honour to take part in the new series and we really appreciate all the love that we've had from fans both old and new.

We're keeping busy though, working on fixing Chompalot back up, to hopefully take part in the next series if the BBC commission one, we have everything crossed for that! We also have the Young Roboteers Club starting up at Derby Silk Mill Museum of Making were we'll be working with 11-14 year olds giving them an insight in to the world of the roboteer starting Sept 17th and we're pretty excited. The 5 week project will culminate in us presenting a robotic project at Maker Faire Derby which the children that attend the club will help put together.

We've been in the local paper and later this week we'll be on BBC Radio Derby talking robots, then on September 11th we're making a guest appearance at Derby Cats Protection along with Chompie at their annual charity gala.

After that we're hoping to develop an ant weight robot club open to all ages and hopefully hold regular courses for kids at the Silk Mill. Debs is building her own ant weight and is in the process of sourcing parts.

And of course we continue to work on developing Chompalot and are both working on new skills that will be useful for the arena, Simon is keen to fit a camera into Chompie so we can see what is happening in the arena, feeding the video back to Debs will help her to see what is happening much better, from the roboteers booth the view isn't always so clear. Further updates will be coming soon with some more indepth information on our recent Robot Wars experience, so watch this space.
